This is not a “new age” wellness trend. My practice is rooted in sacred indigenous medicine that survived generations of war, colonization, and erasure — and it is still here, still alive.
Healing is not just personal. It is political. It is ancestral. It is collective.
A person who has genuinely healed — who knows their worth and has love, joy & peace in their body — that person cannot participate in systems of harm the same way.
When you heal, you don’t just change your own life — you change what’s possible for everyone around you.

I am a memoirist & essayist who has been nurtured and uplifted by writing fellowships from PEN America, Lambda Literary and the Loft Literary Center (Minneapolis). For the past 11 years I’ve worked to complete what may be the first queer Hmong memoir in the world. Now I just have to get it published…
I write because I want to name my people’s trauma, but I don’t want it to define us any longer.
I write because my humanity and liberation is bound with yours.
I write because I must be a scribe for the wisdom my ancestors carry to me on the wind.
